Electronic Artist
Paul Fishman is a creator of innovative electronic music
While studying composition at the Guildhall of Music, Paul became a founding member of London’s Cockpit Theatre’s experimental music group. Around this time, he released his debut album “In Search of Ancient Gods” under Warner Bros. Records.
In the 80’s, Paul formed the new wave band Re-Flex who achieved international success with their hit single and album “The Politics of Dancing”. Five singles were released from the album with all charting in different territories around the world. The band first achieved success in America, where they topped the US dance charts and toured extensively supporting The Police. Re-Flex were one of the first of a wave of UK artists to be regularly featured on MTV.
Now, Paul is preparing for the release of his first solo album of original work released in over 15 years. “It’s About Time” will see Paul’s return to creating innovative electronic music. The record will be available in two parts. The first will be released digitally at the end of November 2019 and part two will follow in spring 2020. Both will be available on a double CD.
Producer
Paul is an established producer and has worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry
Paul first began producing records for major record companies during the 70's, the first was NRG. Following the Re-Flex era, continued his career as a successful writer-producer, forming a partnership with musician David Harris. He has worked with many artists and legendary producers, e.g. Gus Dugeon, Trevor Horn, Nik Launay. The duo attracted the attention of record companies including Berry Gordon of Motown Records and remixed tracks by Marvin Gaye & The Temptations and artists signed to Prince’s label.
In the early 2000s, Paul became involved in the production of over 20 soundtracks, including the iconic score for the film Get Carter. These tracks have since appeared frequently as samples within other well known records, particularly in hip hop. Paul has continued to produce a wide range of different styles of music, from dance, pop, soul, jazz, and classical.
He recorded an experimental jazz-fusion album with musician Peter Gil of Frankie Goes To Hollywood and has produced five other Re-Flex albums. With David Harris, he produced an album of songs “2 In 2 The Groove” under the name Boom Boom. New versions of both will be available in 2020. Other recent projects include producing and mastering the Richard Wright (Pink Floyd) album Zee “Identity” and for 80’s band Fashion.

Paul has worked with leading film composers and musicians
As a producer and composer of soundtracks, Paul has contributed to over 100 major films, including Superman, Death Wish, and the double platinum-selling soundtrack Breakdance. His recent work includes "Get Carter" & "The Internecine Project" (Roy Budd) and Just a Gigolo (David Bowie & Marlene Dietrich), released on vinyl in 2019.
With a reputation as a respected and in-demand session musician, Paul has worked with many leading film composers and a variety of well-known artists ranging from Public Image Limited, Elton John to Slade and many others..

Paul has also composed music for various events including three ballets for the World Cup Kite Contest.
