BALL OF CONFUSION -

THAT'S WHAT THE WORLD IS TODAY.
OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE
Paul Fishman and Dave Harris announce the PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED MOTOWN-APPROVED remix of “Ball of Confusion” by The Temptations.
“Ball of Confusion” was released in 1970 under Motown Records. The track quickly became an international no.1 hit and resonated with listeners all over the world.
The track’s powerful message resonates truer than ever today.
In the late 90s, songwriting and production partners Paul Fishman and Dave Harris received a copy of the multitrack tape of the original single. Other artists had - unsuccessfully - attempted to remix the track prior to the tape accidentally landing in their laps.
Having previously worked and produced many R&B artists, they decided to risk taking a very different approach to the original mix - a contemporary musical interpretation of Hip Hop.
Several months after finalizing their remix, Harris and Fishman received a call from Motown founder, Berry Gordy. Gordy not only approved the track - he loved it. He also thought that the track’s original producer Norman Whitfield would love it too.
The remix was never officially released and has remained unheard by fans of The Temptations.

UNTIL NOW.
This Black Music Month, Harris and Fishman have made the decision to share the unheard track in solidarity with all those taking a stand in Minnesota - and across the world - following the unjust death of George Floyd.
The decision to make this mix available was largely in response to a recent Instagram post by Motown Records in which they referenced The Temptations song. When it was first released, the song's lyrics had a disturbing relevance to the present situation. This is truer than ever now.
The unreleased remix will be made available for download from June 12th. It will be a donate-what-you-want track and will be released as a testament of solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement.
ALL proceeds will go towards the Minneapolis grassroots organization, Reclaim The Block.* The organization works to provide the Minneapolis community with the resources they need to thrive.

The remix brings you The Temptations as you’ve never heard them before. But it’s so much more than that. After all...
